THE LIVING LIBRARY at Gather
NEW at Gather this year, the Living Library offers a unique opportunity to meet LGBTQ+ folks with experiences you may be curious about, unfamiliar with, or simply want to understand more deeply...
The Living Library is based on a Danish concept that began in 2000: people with diverse and often marginalized life experiences become the “books,” and attendees become the “readers“... Instead of turning pages, you sit down together for a conversation. Instead of reading someone’s story from a distance, you get to meet the person who lived it...
At Gather, our Living Library presenters will share stories connected to LGBTQ+ identity, faith, and life in the church in a relaxed, informal setting...
Maybe you’ve wondered what it’s like to be trans. Or what it's like serving in church leadership as an LGBTQ+ person, being bisexual or navigating church participation as a same-sex couple while staying close to Christ?
The Living Library will be open during Gather Conference on Saturday November 14th from 2pm–5pm. Story-time sessions last approximately 15 minutes and repeat three times each hour. Visit the circulation desk at the top of the escalators during Gather Conference on Saturday November 14th to sign up for a session.
